Container Planting Design for a Monastery-Style Hotel Reception, Peloponnese

Terracotta containers with perennials, ornamental grasses, and aromatic herbs against a backdrop of rough stone.

The hotel consists of a complex of rustic-style buildings. These were once monastic structures of stone and wood, topped with ceramic roof tiles.

Terracotta containers were chosen for the planting design. To contrast with the rough stone, we selected airy and light perennials (gaura, perovskia), ornamental grasses (pennisetum species), and aromatic herbs (lavender, rosemary, oregano, thyme, geranium, santolina).
